Title : Procurement and Logistic Assistant
Grade level : Personal Service Agreement (psa)
Contract : Consultant
Supervisor : Head of Finance and Administration Unit
Duration : 03 month renewable
the Procurement and Logistic Assistant Works under the overall supervision of the Head of Finance and Administration Unit of fao Cameroon, in close collaboration with the staff of the Representation as well as in liaison with the Procurement service (csap) in fao headquarters to exchange information and ensure consistent service delivery.
the Procurement and Logistic Assistant Provides procurement and logistic related services at fao Country Office in Cameroon and Projects.
He / She promotes a client-oriented and consistent with rules and regulations approach in the fao Cameroon Country Office.
Tasks and responsibilities
Support the general administrative work of the Representation including general office management and procurement
Ensure full compliance with fao rules, regulations, and policies of financial and administrative activities, financial recording / reporting system, implementation of effective internal controls, proper functioning of a client-
Liaise with the Share Services Centre (ssc) and the Regional Office for Africa (raf) on all matters related to applying best practices and relevant administrative fao mechanisms.
Review procurement request recommend the most appropriate procurement approach
Initiative and follow-up procurement actions up to their completion (falling under the delegation of the fao Representative, as a Buyer for goods, works and services), in liaison with all stakeholders and in line with fao rules and procedures
Follow-up with the requiresting unit on necessary supporting documentation and clearances as required
Prepare tender documents, Invitation for Bid (itb), Request for Quotation (rfq) and Request for Proposal (rfp)
Facilitate the evaluation process, in liaison with the relevant divisions, by preparing commercial evaluation and relevant notes / reports, organizing Local Procurement Committee (lpc) meetings and ensuring budget holders’ clearance before issuance of a Purchase Order (po)
Assist in other administrative related issues as per requirement.
Minimum requirements Candidates will be assessed against the following
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting Management, Logistic and Transport Management or other related field
at least 1 years of relevant work experience work experience preferably in international organizations
Technical / Functional Skills
High sense of responsibility, resourcefulness, willingness to take initiative, excellent communication skills and team spirit are important assets.
